Cirrus Aircraft 70201-002 Heat Exchanger Replacement Kit — SR20, SB2X-78-07
- For SR20 serials 1423 thru 1815 (Verify per SB2X-78-07)
- SR20 serials 1005 thru 1422 use kit P/N 70201-001
- Kit contents: improved heat exchanger weldment 20559-002 (1 ea) and shroud 10869-002 (1 ea) — both also stocked separately
SB2X-78-07 is a Cirrus MANDATORY service bulletin covering the SR20 heat exchanger. A spot weld attaching a baffle to the heater muff can fail and admit exhaust fumes to the cabin, with a risk of carbon monoxide entering the cabin. The bulletin requires a pressurization check of the heat exchanger weldment; this kit supplies the improved weldment, which is of a different design and is not subject to weld failure in the same manner.
