Description

Cirrus Aircraft 70084-001 Crew Seat Recline Lock Kit — Two-Hole, SR20/SR22, SB2X-25-06

During dynamic seat testing, Cirrus found that under extreme emergency-landing loads — approaching 26 g — the crew seat back may fold forward. The condition does not affect the flight safety of the airplane, and there have been no reported occurrences in any accident or incident.

Cirrus classes SB2X-25-06 as mandatory, within 50 flight hours or the next six calendar months, whichever occurs first. Alert Service Bulletin SB A2X-25-08 (crew seat break-over bolt adjustment) must be done before or at the same time.

What the kit does: Supplies a pair of improved recline locks for one crew seat, with the bolts, washers and nuts to install them.

Why it works. The break-over bolt adjustment secures the seat back in the aft and mid positions; the improved recline locks extend that to every seat back position, including full upright.

Which kit do I need: Two kits per aircraft — one per crew seat. The kit depends on the recline locks installed. Two-hole recline locks take 70084-001 (SR20 serials 1148 thru 1152 and 1206 thru 1455; SR22 serials 0002 thru 1044). Three-hole recline locks take 70084-002 (SR20 serials 1005 thru 1147 and 1153 thru 1205). Perform the bulletin's recline lock identification check on both seats before ordering.

Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
