Description
Cirrus Aircraft 70144-001 Brake Temperature Indicator Kit — SR20/SR22, SB2X-32-14
Brake damage or failure can cause loss of directional control. To reduce the potential for brake failure, SB2X-32-14 adds temperature indicators to the brake assemblies and cuts an inspection hole in each main gear fairing so brake temperature can be monitored. It also trims the fairings for added clearance and adds a revision to the Pilot's Operating Handbook.
Cirrus classes SB2X-32-14 as mandatory, at the next scheduled maintenance, annual inspection or within 100 flight hours, whichever occurs first. If the brakes are being upgraded under SB2X-32-13 or SB2X-32-21, do that first or at the same time, so the inspection hole lines up with the new brake.
What the kit does: Supplies the brake temperature indicators for both brakes and a lining wear indicator.
Why it works. The inspection hole lets the temperature indicator be checked without removing the fairing, so brake temperature can be monitored routinely.
Note: For SR20 serials 1005 thru 1592 and SR22 serials 0002 thru 1727. Refer to SB2X-32-14 to confirm applicability before ordering.
Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
