Description
Cirrus Aircraft 70186-005 Cabin Door Upper Hinge Pin Kit — SR20/SR22, SB2X-52-07
Over time, the cabin door rod ends at the upper and lower door hinges can bend and possibly fail, which could let a cabin door become dislodged. Parts at the upper hinge can also bind and damage the sealant that keeps moisture out of the cabin.
Cirrus classes SB2X-52-07 as mandatory, within 50 flight hours or the next six calendar months, whichever occurs first. Aircraft that had an earlier version of this bulletin done must still complete the current one.
What the kit does: Supplies non-binding upper hinge pins for both cabin doors, with clevis bolts, castellated nuts, cotter pins and washers — for aircraft that already have the improved rod ends.
Why it works. The improved rod ends replace the ones that can bend, and the non-binding upper hinge pin with a castellated nut keeps the hinge secure without working the sealant.
Which kit do I need: SR20 serials 1423 thru 1796 and SR22 serials 0795 and 0820 thru 2539 that have never had this bulletin done take 70186-004. The same serials that had an earlier version done, plus SR20 serials 1797 thru 1906 and SR22 serials 2540 thru 2912, take 70186-005. Refer to SB2X-52-07 to confirm applicability before ordering.
Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
