Cirrus Aircraft 70197-001 Rudder-Aileron Interconnect Hardware Kit — SR20/SR22, SB2X-27-14
On an aircraft with an improperly rigged rudder, aileron or rudder-aileron interconnect, a full cross-control input could let the RH aileron cable clamp catch on attaching hardware on the interconnect arm, which could stop the flight controls from responding. Cirrus notes the condition has not been seen on aircraft rigged to specification.
Cirrus classes SB2X-27-14 as mandatory, within 25 flight hours or the next three calendar months, whichever occurs first. Rudder, aileron and interconnect rigging are checked at the same time. Aircraft that had an earlier version of this bulletin done must complete the current one.
What the kit does: Supplies improved bungee clamps and the attaching hardware for the interconnect arm and the RH aileron cable.
Why it works. With the new hardware, the interconnect arm cannot catch on a cable terminal clamp even if the system is out of tolerance.
Note: For SR20 serials 1005 thru 1861 and SR22 serials 0002 thru 2333, 2335 thru 2419 and 2421 thru 2437. Refer to SB2X-27-14 to confirm applicability before ordering.
