Description
Cirrus Aircraft 70202-002 Outboard Flap Cove Patch Kit — Sterling, SB2X-57-09
In cold weather, blowing snow could enter the wing through an opening at the outboard flap coves, between the lower wing skin and the outboard flap hinges, collect around the aileron cable and freeze — binding the aileron system.
Cirrus classes SB2X-57-09 as mandatory, at the next maintenance, annual inspection or within 60 flight hours, whichever occurs first. Before flight in cold weather, inspect all areas where critical components may be exposed to ice, snow and frost, per Cirrus Service Advisory SA07-24.
What the kit does: Supplies two outboard flap cove patches in sterling, with the blind rivets to install them.
Why it works. The patches reduce the clearance at the outboard flap coves, so snow can no longer get into the wing there.
Which kit do I need: Match the aircraft's paint — white 70202-001, sterling 70202-002, gold 70202-003. For SR20 serials 1878 and 1886 thru 1891, and SR22 serials 2334, 2420 and 2438 thru 2912. Refer to SB2X-57-09 to confirm applicability before ordering.

The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
