Description
Cirrus Aircraft 70220-001 A/C Condenser Seal Kit — SR22, SB2X-21-03
On affected SR22s with air conditioning, exhaust gas may enter through a gap between the condenser outlet and the fuselage belly outlet screen — during a full-power climb, full rich, with the air conditioning in recirculation. CO levels fall as soon as the aircraft levels off, power is reduced or the mixture is leaned, and Cirrus judged the observed levels unlikely to affect the pilot.
Cirrus classes SB2X-21-03 as mandatory, at the next maintenance or within 50 flight hours, whichever occurs first.
What the kit does: Supplies the adhesive-backed rubber material fitted to the condenser intake and outlet ducts; the fuselage screens are sealed with sealant.
Why it works. Closing the gaps between the condenser and the fuselage screens keeps exhaust gas from being drawn in.
Note: For SR22 serials 1602, 1821, 1840 and 1863 thru 3100 with the optional air conditioning system. Refer to SB2X-21-03 to confirm applicability before ordering.
Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
