Cirrus Aircraft 70226-002 Improved Gascolator Kit — SR22 with Perspective Avionics, SB2X-28-08
In warm weather, an affected SR22 climbing to altitude at full power with the fuel boost pump on could see fuel flow drop if the boost pump is switched off shortly after leveling off — which could interrupt engine power.
Cirrus classes SB2X-28-08 as mandatory, at the next scheduled maintenance or within 100 flight hours, whichever occurs first. Aircraft that had the earlier gascolator change under this bulletin must also do the improved installation.
What the kit does: Supplies an improved gascolator with its bracket, the boost pump-to-gascolator tube, a drain tube and hardware.
Which kit do I need: The avionics decide. SR22 serials 2710 thru 3420 with Avidyne avionics take 70226-001; serials 3026 thru 3420 with Perspective avionics take 70226-002. Normally aspirated engines only — aircraft with the Tornado Alley turbonormalizing STC (SA10588SC / SE10589SC) are not affected. Refer to SB2X-28-08 to confirm applicability before ordering.
