Description
Cirrus Aircraft 70234-001 Improved NLG Strut Assembly Kit — SR20, SB2X-32-18
On a number of SR20s used in intensive flight training, cracks developed in the upper nose landing gear, running crosswise through the attach point arms near the fillet weld to the upper gusset plate. Landing stresses could cause the same condition on other aircraft.
Cirrus classes SB2X-32-18 as mandatory: inspect within the next 15 flight hours and every 100 hours after that, until the terminating action — replacing the nose landing gear strut assembly with the improved one — is done.
What the kit does: Supplies the improved nose landing gear strut assembly with its tube spacers, Belleville washers, nut, washers and cotter pin.
Why it works. Installing the improved strut is the bulletin's terminating action, so the repeat inspections end.
Note: For SR20 serials 1005 thru 1877 and 1879 thru 1885. Refer to SB2X-32-18 to confirm applicability before ordering.
Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
