Cirrus Aircraft 70242-001 LH Forward Baffle Clearance Kit — SR22, SB2X-71-16
On affected SR22s, the LH forward baffle assembly can contact the engine cooling fins or case, or the diode cover on alternator 2, and chafe.
Cirrus classes SB2X-71-16 as recommended, at the next scheduled maintenance or annual inspection, whichever occurs first.
What the kit does: Supplies an improved closeout, two seals, a doubler and rivets used to modify the LH forward baffle.
Why it works. The modified baffle has more clearance to the engine and to alternator 2, so it no longer rubs against them.
Note: For SR22 serials 2979 thru 3619 with Perspective avionics — the bulletin excludes a number of serials within that range. Refer to SB2X-71-16 to confirm applicability before ordering.
