Cirrus Aircraft 70255-001 Flap Actuator End Fitting Kit — SB2X-27-16 Group A
A flap actuator that bottoms out at full extension can spin its internal shaft and loosen the end fitting's jam nut, letting the end fitting creep down the actuator rod so the flaps over-stow.
Cirrus classes SB2X-27-16 as mandatory or recommended depending on serial number and whether the original release of the bulletin was complied with, to be accomplished at the next scheduled maintenance, annual inspection, or within 12 calendar months, whichever occurs first.
What the kit does: Replaces the flap actuator end fitting with a slightly longer one, installed with a specified jam nut torque.
Why it works. The longer end fitting allows a more accurate adjustment of the 0% proximity sensor, and the specified torque positively secures it, so the actuator cannot bottom out at full extension.
Note: Group A is for aircraft that have already complied with the original release of SB2X-27-16, and for SR20 serials 2030 thru 2085, SR22 serials 3460 thru 3766 and SR22T serials 0001 thru 0156. Earlier aircraft that have not complied with the original release use the Group B kit, 70255-002. Refer to SB2X-27-16 to confirm the right kit.
