Description
Cirrus Aircraft 70259-002 Air/Oil Separator Replacement Kit — SR22T, SB2X-71-19
On affected SR22Ts, the air/oil separator installation can place unnecessary loads on the oil cooler, which could crack the mounting bracket or the oil cooler flange.
Cirrus classes SB2X-71-19 as mandatory, within 50 flight hours or at the next scheduled maintenance, whichever occurs first. A chafing inspection is done at the same time.
What the kit does: Supplies a replacement air/oil separator with a doubler plate, hose, adapter and nipple, plus the clamps, rivets and hardware for its alternate mounting.
Why it works. The replacement installation uses alternate mounting hardware, so the separator no longer loads the oil cooler.
Which kit do I need: The two kits differ only in the doubler plate. 70259-002 is for SR22T serials 0079, 0111, 0114, 0139, 0141, 0144, 0156, 0160, 0170 and 0188; 70259-001 is for the other affected serials within 0001 thru 0198, 0201, 0203 and 0213. Refer to SB2X-71-19 to confirm applicability before ordering.
Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
