Cirrus Aircraft 70270-001 Alternate Oil Temperature Sensor Kit — SR20, SB2X-79-03
On affected SR20s the oil temperature sensor sits in the oil cooler adapter, close to the anti-congealing oil flow. When the oil cooler is in bypass with cold oil, that position biases the reading low. Hot oil temperature readings are not affected.
Cirrus classes SB2X-79-03 as optional.
What the kit does: Supplies an alternate oil temperature sensor with its gasket and the connector parts to wire it in.
Why it works. The alternate sensor is positioned more directly in the bypass oil flow, so it measures cold oil temperature more accurately.
Note: For SR20 serials 1005 thru 2015. Refer to SB2X-79-03 to confirm applicability before ordering.
