Description

Cirrus Aircraft 70504-001 Wing Static Wick Kit, SR20/SR22/SR22T — SB2X-23-03

SB2X-23-03 offers optional modifications to dissipate P-static (precipitation static) on aircraft affected by it: static wicks on the wings and empennage, electrical bonding of airframe panels, and EVS camera installation changes.

The bulletin is optional, at the owner's option. Aircraft with LED strobe lights must also comply with SB2X-33-06 (strobe gasket), which is included in the bulletin. Cirrus recommends that aircraft which already had the wing modifications done also add the empennage static wicks.

What the kit does: Supplies the wing static wick installation — LH and RH wick brackets, grounding and backing plates, retainers, micropoint static wicks, conductive epoxy and bonding wire.

Which kits do I need: The bulletin splits aircraft into groups by serial and by what was already done. In short — every group gets the empennage static wick kit (70509-001); aircraft that have not yet had the wing modifications also get the wing static wick kit (70504-001); the earliest group also gets the airframe bonding kit (70506-001); and aircraft with an EVS camera add the EVS camera bonding kit (70508-001). LED-strobe aircraft that have not done SB2X-33-06 also need strobe gaskets 17140-101. Refer to SB2X-23-03 for the serial groups before ordering.

Note: SB2X-23-03 covers SR20 serials 1878 and 1886 thru 2269, SR22 serials 2334, 2420 and 2438 thru 4120, and SR22T serials 0001 thru 0840 and 0842 thru 0860.

Reference only — not a maintenance authority. The part numbers, effectivity and service bulletin references shown above are published as an aid to our customers and may not reflect current Cirrus data. They must not be used as the basis for installation. Mechanics must obtain and use their own current Cirrus Illustrated Parts Catalog and the current revision of any service bulletin, and must verify applicability against the aircraft serial number, service bulletin compliance and any installed STCs, before ordering or installing any part.
