Cirrus Aircraft 70606-001 Remote-Mount Oil Pressure Sensor Kit — SR20, SB2X-79-09
On aircraft with the oil pressure sensor mounted directly on the engine block, long-term vibration works on the connector built into the sensor and the gauge begins reading erratically.
Cirrus classes SB2X-79-09 as recommended, at the next scheduled maintenance.
What the kit does: Moves the oil pressure sensor off the engine block — a new sensor, oil hose, adapter and nipple fitting, with clamps and hardware.
Why it works. The sensor is no longer bolted to a vibrating engine block, so the connector inside it stops being shaken — which is what produced the erratic readings.
Note: For SR20 serials 2339 thru 2357, 2362 and 2369 thru 2434. SR22 aircraft use kit 70605-001 under SB2X-79-08; SR22T aircraft use 70551-001 or -002 under SB2X-79-04. Refer to SB2X-79-09 to confirm applicability before ordering.
